Lila Manila

The colorful purple Filipino favorite is a naturally purple colored yam. This special kind of yam is known as »Ube« in Filipino language, and also cultivated as staple food in the Philippines. Here in Germany we tend to a feeling of aversion if we see purple colored food that seems to be not conform to the norm - just because it could be something artificially produced and therefore unhealthy. However, Ube is something totally different.

The purple colored Ube yam is the main ingredient of the new brand called » Lila Manila « (Lila is the common color description for the color purple in German language). The brand » Lila Manila « stands for healthy and innovative purple lifestyle food products, whose origin can be found in the Philippines.
