»Socially engaged art practice«

Homeless Workshop by Naomi Kasumi for an exhibition in cooperation with Caritas Frankfurt, 4th to 8th of December 2017, Hesse International Class, Participants from NNU/Nanjing, CAFA/Beijing, Tongji/Shanghai and HfG Offenbach. Naomi Kasumi, Japanese Installation Artist, settled in USA. Professor of Digital Design as well as Professor of the Asian Studies Program and Director of the Siena Program in Italy all related to the Seattle University.  

All her art projects have a strong social relevance. Naomi Kasumi has exhibited in Vancouver, Brisbane, New Delhi, Budapest, Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagano and Fukushima. Naomi’s research and creative work have been focused on a series of memorial rituals, and Tohoku Tsunami disaster relief projects, in a large-scale installation art form. She also works on variety of media such as: book art, video, printmaking, and graphic design. Naomi has held numerous international solo and group exhibitions at galleries, as well as public and educational institutions.
