Plastic Jewellery by Shahd El Lawindy, Prof. Klaus Hesse

The beauty of the unembellished

Shahd El Lawindy has experimented intensively with everyday plastic waste to create a jewellery collection. She has developed about 20 different earrings, necklaces, bracelets and ribbons.

Shahd El Lawindy used heat to shape the plastic into the appropriate forms and sometimes applied appliqués from the remains of plastic bags or gold to the surfaces. This has resulted in a whole series of independent and beautiful new pieces of jewelry.
