Drawing in jail by Anastasija Loladze ©2019
Anastasija Loladze had decided to have herself drawn. She worked as an art teacher in a German penitentiary with juveniles between the ages of 15 and 20 who had committed crimes. She distributed weekly tasks such as drawing favourite objects, her most important thoughts at that time or how they would like to see each other in two years. Anastasija supported and instructed them accordingly in order to be able to express themselves with these unusual means for the young people.
The pictures seem above all together with the statements of the imprisoned young people in their simplicity disturbing and somehow touchingly "innocent". Without a doubt a very interesting experiment on which one can continue to build when looking after children who have committed crimes. Anastasija Loladze has selected about 80 drawings and painted fabric bags for her diploma presentation.
